We are trying to have a Civilization here. So it's encouraging when strangers act civilized to each other.
I always appreciate those little nice gestures...especially at a place where you always see anonymous people, like a fast-food place or gas station.
Nothing special has happened today, but when strangers give me REAL answers about my dog, or any other Y! question I ask, it renews my faith in humanity.

There are a plenty of nice people in the world, It just depends on the environment. Some people are raised that other see the hate around them and want to make a change cause the see the pain it brings to other people and they don't want that.

Besides being good manners, it's showing your respect for other people. It's a win win situation, you feel good, and it makes them feel good too.
Usually, you get a nice smile and thank you, so that's not a bad reward, for just being kind, is it.

I love it when people do nice things. Though it doesn't happen often. It's great to know that there are still some decent people out there.

Kate,
I agree, sometimes we don't appreciate the little things that we have in our lives because we are too busy looking for the things that we don't have.
