Cruising down the river past the Tate Modern, the crew member commentating pointed to the old power generating plant and said "That is now is the Tate Modern, home of cutting edge art. Entrance in free, otherwise no-one would go". Shurely shome mishstake?

Every museum I went to in Ireland and England was free. I thought it was fantastic. For me that was a bonus though, I would've gone anyway. It is encouraging, you don't have to prioritize which museums you can see based on how much $ you have!
ps- the tate is good, but I liked the national gallery better...

I've not been to the Tate in London, but I thought the Liverpool one in the Albert Docks was brilliant. They have some really cool, off the wall stuff. You can probably pay a donation if you appreciate it that much.

I'd rat the crew member out to the Tate for bad publicity. I hope you voiced your objections!

The comment probably just highlights why this person was working on a rip-off 'cruise' rather than in a more challenging and engaging occupation.

It was probably some ignoramus who'd never set foot in an art gallery or museum. You get retards every where, you know.

I've been there loads of times, it's great, and I haven't been on one of them rip-off cruises for years. Go figure.
