Their boyfriends treat them like dirt. But when you make a comment about their boyfriends they always come back and say that their boyfriends have something hurtful to say about you.

You need better friends. Find friends who respect themselves and who respect you. You don't need to settle for losers.

Common rule of thumb... don't say things about people that other people love. If their boyfriends treat them like dirt, listen, be their friend, but do not make negative comments. That doesn't do anything but fuel to an already flaming fire.

It's my theory that some (not all) women prefer the more "emotionally abusive" boyfriends that treat their girlfriends like dirt as you have described.

Maybe there's something that the girlfriend sees they can possibly change and protects the relationship because of that.

Who knows. That's why I went into business and not psychology.

I think your assumption that their loyalty to you should be above that to their boy friends is a little unrealistic. Unfortunately the superior control belongs in their relationship and not yours with them. Beaten women have been known to side with their abuser rather than the one trying to help from the outside. Rather than comment, question the actions as a norm, is that the accepted norm, is that normal. This demands of you to develop a greater use of language so that you avoid critical comment and use leading questions instead.

Obviously you have never been in love with someone because if you had you would understand how your friends could do something like that to you.

Have you ever heard of the term love is blind? Because most of the time it is....you cannot put down your friends boyfriend..because it will just turn your friend against you. If you are there friend you need to support them no matter what--believe me they will eventually learn from their own mistakes.

You probably said something close to home that hurt them so they became defensive. Alot of people first instinct is to fight back when they feel they are being attacked. Its best just to stay out of their business. A stupid guy isn't worth losing a friend over.

Because guys are not the only ones that think with the wrong anatomy. It's called craniumrectolitis, it is a serious disease and it takes a specialty doctor to get your head outta your butt. Have a good one:-)

that is a very good ?. the thing that kills me is that they'll choose him over you. then when they finally get their head out of his a$$, you are just supposed to act like nothing happened. coulda been friends with her for ten years before this.
but there have been many songs about the things we do for love. so forgive your friend, she doesn't mean to hurt you.

Don't make comments about their boyfriends--at least until they are an ex--even if they complain they don't want to hear it from you
