The best way and best way to reduce damage to your car and it's paint job, is to use heavy test fishing line, wrap the ends around a stick, pipe or something like that, and go between your emblem and the car, working down, it make take a few tries but it works, and for the glue, to soften it up, use a heat gun, low setting, to get it off, be careful of the heat on the paint, if you don't have a heat gun, a blow drier will work, and to get rid of the glue residue, use WD-40, the clean it off. They use realy strong double sided tape.
Pry harder.
