January - New Year's Day
February - Valentine'd Day
March - St. Patrick's Day
April - Easter
May - Mother's Day
June - Father's Day
July - Independence Day
August - AVAILABLE
September - Labor Day
October - Halloween
November - Thanksgiving
December - Christmas

As you can see most months are taken. So only a son or daughter could celebrate in August....but then again who wants to do anything in August. Gotta love Hallmark!

I think there is a Children's day, and that should be enough.

While all kids have a Mother and Father (whether they ever see them or not) not all parents have sons AND daughters. We don't have any daughters, for example.

Since there's noone of voting/pursuasion age to spur action for a congressionally-sanctioned day, like Anna Jarvis did for Mother's Day, and the imitators did for Father's day.

Factoid: Anna Jarvis, creator of Mother's day, was never herself a mother.
