People who say "love the sinner, hate the sin" are vicious hypocrites who obviously hate both.

God made me exactly how I am, which is gay. Who am I, or you, to judge or ignore any of God's gifts?

Being gay is not a choice. When did you "choose" to be [assumedly] straight? Can't you see what a bigoted and hate-filled question this is?

If you persist in this hatred, bigotry and discrimination, I certainly hope you don't have the gall to call yourself a 'christian.' Your thoughts, words and actions are exactly the opposite of 'godly.' WWJD?

What not try peace, understanding, tolerance and love for a change?

I'm not gay either...but have read a lot about homosexuality and current studies tend to lean towards it being something people are born with and not a choice. Additionally, efforts to change homosexuals into heterosexuals have had an extremely low success rate. The most someone who is gay can do is just choose to not ever have sex again...which is fine if that person believes what they are doing is a sin. However, not everyone shares your religious beliefs.

Homosexuals should be proud of being gay because that's just part of what makes them special as an individual...we should all be proud of our unique qualities. It is very unfortunate that we live in a country where a group is labeled as evil just because they were born with sexual desires that differ from the accepted norm. We are not truly free when it is so easy for religous people to restrict the rights loving couple to marry just because it doesn't fit into their little box of what is right.

OK, this is for all you religion nuts

you people crack me up ... first of all, you are so sure that you have the answer that your willing to bet you life on a fairy tale instead of betting on the sure thing

what's the sure thing? ... that you're alive and and free to enjoy life to the fullest and do pretty much whatever you please as long as you don't hurt anyone or damage their property by it

what's the fairy tale? ... take your pick - that god exists or that the bible is the word of god ... that fairy tale flys in the face of common sense and everything that you observe as you live your life ... why should YOUR bible be any truer than THEIR koran ... or the teachings of Buddha ... you believe your bible as an ACCIDENT of what country you were born into ... DUH! ... not only that, the bible wasn't written in this language ... it's been translated ... it's not the word of god, it's the work of translators ... there are so many things in the bible that are clearly written by a people that didn't understand physics and astronomy as we do now that its clear that the boble is NOT the word of god

secondly, it is not a sin to be gay!! ... one's being is (if you believe in god) perfect ... exactly how god created it ... how could it be otherwise? ... now you might want to claim that it's so-called 'sin" to perform homosexual acts, but so what? ... lots of stuff is a sin ... we're all sinners ... read leviticus ... it's an abomination to eat shellfish ... it's a sin to not marry your brother's wife if he dies

thirdly, you can't change sexual orientation by any effort of the will ... if you think you can, read the link in my "sources" .. from the link: ' THE CLAIMS of "ex-gays" themselves also vary considerably. Many frankly admit that, contrary to Payne's claims, "healing" of homosexuality is not "remarkably simple." They know from their own experience what daily and even hourly struggles they are up against. In a recent interview in the "St. Paul Pioneer Press," "ex-gay" leader Jeff Ford of Outpost says that he still wrestles with his own homosexual urges, admitting he is not "cured," and that he doubts that "anyone has shed their homosexual orientation" through the "ex-gay" process.'

you can no more "cure" homosexuality than you can stupidity ... but that's ok, i don't hate people that are stupid ... i just hate the stupidity

so really, you don't know what you're talking about ... go get a life!!

Here we go again. Ok, one more time - being homosexual is NOT a choice. It will never be a choice no matter how many times you fundamentalists say it is..It's NOT a choice. Get that through your thick head. On to the "it's a sin" thing. Do you really think that the one God that created the vast universe and every living thing in it is that petty? God likes this but not that? God created EVERYTHING and everything is perfect in Gods infinite mind - God is far to great to be so very petty and if you can't grasp that then you need to take another look at God...I mean REALLY look.

While I appreciate the attempt at not being hateful I have to say that I do strongly feel you have no business being in this section if you're here to offer religious advice. Most of us are believers in God and if it's a sin to be gay (and that's a BIG IF) then I know I'll be forgiven on judgement day. But until God tells me face to face that it is a sin for me to love my partner...then i will go on loving her.

Oh please...I'm a lot older than you...do you realize that your attitude is a major reason why gay and lesbian teenage suicides are at an all time high...I've been there...I guarantee you that at some point in their life every gay person would have given anything (including their own lives) to be straight. It doesn't work like that.....It's like asking a black person to be white or vice versa. Choose a topic that you know something about.

Sorry but you are gay, otherwise why would you leave such a message in this secion of Yahoo answers. If you are having problems reconciling your feelings with your religion then ask the real question you want to ask, there are plenty of people here who can help you come to terms with both.

yet another ignorant bigot using religion to justify themselves. we DON'T chose, you moron. we are all born the way we are. if God created us all and doesn't make mistakes, the He created us too! and He loves us all! what if someone told you, "you don't have to be straight"? when did you CHOSE to be straight? can you answer that? hmm? we're all waiting for that answer. we see this same ignorant question over and over in here. you people have NO clue what-so-ever.
the SIN here is preaching hatred and intolerance. THAT is the mortal sin....for which YOU will be judged! hate is neither a family nor a Christian value. and we don't consider people like you to be "true" Christians. go preach it somewhere else, pal...you're ignorance is not welcome here!

I never understand why people who aren't gay (as you made sure to tell us) INSIST that they know better than those of us who are. Think you've got something we haven't tried ourselves earlier on? Sorry, no. More importantly, the scientific medical community would hardcore disagree with you.

Are you retarded... YES it is a choice to be HAPPY or UNHAPPY. Can we change to be straight? NO...I've TRIED. Doctors are dumb and don't know anything. Shrinks only want your money. People who say they were once gay are LYING. LYING is a sin so if hell exists I guess 75% of the entire world will be going to hell.
