Good question I would like to know also where you can buy an actual prism. There are many cut glass items, but a simple prism is not so easy to find.

Wouldnt it be easier to just teach the lesson without the prism? You can explain how it works. That's dumb.. why would you think about spending money of your own on a prism.. the kids can do without learning about color.

Try a specialty/novelty store like Spencer's. They always seem to have a huge array of things like that.

Check out any hobby shop... They should either be able to fix you up or, at least, point you in the right direction... You can also remind them about a rainbow...

Not sure where you could buy one on it's own, but if you find an old battered telescope or binoculars somewhere you can get it from in there

You can find them in any science store or museum's gift/souvenir shop. That's where I got mine.

Try edmund scientific..or you can get crystals at antique stores that were formerly on chandeleirs (sp)
