Does this sound like a back stab?

I left a position, well my boss replaced me with a temp. In the meantime I tried another job. After about a month or so, I called her inquired about my old position. She said he had a temp and was looking, I said to mention to him I would work temp and let me know. She said she was going to ask her cousin if she wanted the job, but didnt yet, said she would wait. Well needless to say she asked her cousin. I kept up with it and she said she wasnt sure if the cousin was going to take the job but would keep me apprised. Well I've been trying to get in touch with her for the last 4 days with no response. She finally e-mails me and says that her cousin just took the job, but my boss was wishing to hire me back. Sounds like she kept me away to give the job to her cousin. Am I being paranoid or did I get back stabbed.

Of course you got back-stabbed....but it was for family after all. Anyways that is life. I hope you at least got a good letter of reference from it.
