have you tried to play basket ball ? if you havent, go try once or twice. if you do like it...more than horse riding....then you know the answer...if you dont like it....do horse riding instead.
bottom line, dont let anybody tells you what you want to do. it is your own life. live it !!!

Draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper. On one side write down why you'd like to play basketball, (being part of a team, school recognition, etc.); then on the other side write down why you'd like to do horse back riding, (love horses, don't have to go to basketball practice all the time, want to learn to be a good rider, etc.). Which side has the most reasons? That's your answer. Both basketball and horse back riding are wonderful endeavors.

I'm from the Philippines where, like almost every guy, I learned to play basketball as a teenager. But later in life, I learned to play badminton, a sport that my fellow Asians dominate. Needless to say, the two sports are so different. But my goals for taking up the two sports are the same: fitness.

My advice for you is to find a sport or exercise regimen that fits your lifestyle and interest. It doesn't really matter what sport you choose as long as you dedicate yourself to keeping fit and knowing how to play the game.

You can give basketball a try, but it's not for everyone. If basketball doesn't fit your longterm fitness goals, then you can politely decline your friends' invitations and passionately pursue the sport you really like: horseback riding. They must respect your decision.

Compromise with them. Tell them you'll play basketball with them today, but tomorrow you want to go horse back riding.

Do not listen to your friends!!! They are not going to be in your life forever and they should not be allowed to influence your life now! If you like horseback riding and want to do it, then do it!
If you're not into basketball like they are, then don't do it! You will regret it later. Do not be a follower........... either be a leader or be independent and follow what YOU want! Good luck.

do the one you love to do, if you pick basketball and really dont want to be doing it, you wont be as good at it as you should be, you will always be thinking about the horses.

Do what you really want to do. Do not let others change your path. You could do basketball as a second area or as a hobby. Just go with your heart.

Follow your heart, and don't do basketball just because your friends want you too that is called peer pressure. Do what you want to do, be a leader not a follower.
