Have you tried 'FREECYCLE'?
If you type it into your address bar at the top of the page then click 'go' you will find freecycle, where you can ask for anything you need and some kind soul in your local area may have it. Then you go and collect it from them.
You can also offer stuff to other people in your area - all strictly on a non payment basis.
