My appologies. It is $3Billion a year. "Israel receives $1.8 billion in military aid" or that "Israel receives $1.2 billion in economic aid."

Guys. I was simply asking why? And since when we have been giving them money? I do understand that we vote for representatives, again I was just asking If it was a voted issue, or a presidential mandate. I think Israel has the right to protect herself and hope that the Arabs will leave Israel alone. Again Just asking simple questions.

The actual number is about $2.5 billion per year. And, yes, we did vote for it. We elected representatives and senators and they appropriated the funds. We elected the president who signed the legislation. Get over it.

Instead of asking ridiculous self-righteous questions on an internet forum, why don't instead take serious courses in politics and history instead?

I mean... really. People didn't vote for you or I to be born, and yet here we are.

Lesson #1: you don't vote for things to happen. You vote for a leadership that will take actions on your behalf, even if you don't like those actions.

Lesson #2: you vote to remove leadership you don't like.

Lesson #3: voting gives you the right to cast your vote and implement change, but if your choice of voting is not the majority, you have to suck it up. That's how it works.

Lesson #4: for right or wrong, Israel is an US ally. I'm not saying whether is right or wrong, but that's the status quo.

If you really don't like it, you can put serious effort in lobbying against it... or you can pretend to be a concerned, intellectual avant garde citizen and play lobbying on an internet forum.

WHAT WILL YOUR CHOICE BE?

*** EDIT ***

The amount of ignorance when it comes to politics by people is craptacularly amazing.

Citizens vote for a legislature. In turn the ligislature votes on how to spend money in government coffers. So the answer to the second part of your question is: Yes, but indirectly--just like all other money the US spends.

I don't know how much money we give to Israel (or any other country). But no matter how much it is, people did vote for it. Your senators and congressman are elected by you to make these kinds of decisions.

Did the people vote for this?
We elect officials who do what they damn well please with the money they forcefully take from our paychecks every week.
Believe me, if I voted on how my money was spent, it would be for domestic affairs, not ANY foreign intervention.
