How long do I have to wait to have "unprotected sex" after beginning to take oral contraceptions, namely EstroStep. I took my first triangular white pill about 30 minutes ago. Soooo, how long will I have to wait before I can have sex now without a condom?

Check the instructions/pamphlet that came in the package. It will probably also say on the EstroStep website.
However, most birth controls usually say you must use a backup form of birth control (condoms) for 7 days when you first start using the contraceptive. If, however, you started your birth control on the day of your first period, you can have sex without a condom immediately.

I think it would be best to wait for one full month of being on the pill. And make sure you take it perfectly. If you miss a day or take it later than normal it can make it less effective.

Read the little insert that came with your pills- I'm sure it will give you the answer. Or call your doc and ask just to be sure. And remember that the pill only protects againstpregnancy.

A couple of weeks and to be on the safe side, use an additional form of contraception for the first month.
