Question about Theft and social security?

Last week i had my purse stolen and it had mine and my childrens social security cards in it as we were going to enroll in school. Now they are gone. How easy will it be to just get new numbers, and will they even do that in the case that they were stolen?

I don't think you will get new numbers, just new cards.
