Well the media is one place where we are bombarded with so called perfect couples who are divorcing. We see it as normal nowadays and socially acceptable.
Also, lack of trust from being cheated on and lied to usually makes people insecure and unwilling to trust and/or commit to another person.

Those people are the "I Me, want it now" generation who need instant gratification. If they "press a button" and "Don't get it NOW", they spaz out. They can't see pat next week, let alone a lifetime of commitment.
Their tension span is short. They never learned patience in their earlier years because electronic toys stole imagination away from them.

People are so wrapped up in them selves today that when they are in a relationship and it starts to get real, meaning paying bills etc.... they can't handle it.
