It's human nature to find something not 'normal' funny, or scary. I'm not saying it's right, but there are differnt reasons. Up bringing, nerves at the unknown, and plain right rudeness!! It doesn't matter what anyone is like, I know a size 8 blonde, really lovely 'perfect' in this crazy world. And she is a complete up her own *** b!tch. However, I also know an elder man in my building with brain damage who is the nicest man alive. If we all thought the same, life would be boring and we wouldn't have these places to swap opinions. Nasty evil people only make you love the ones who care even more, karma is a great thing!

Because looking at people with such problems makes our own problems seem less significant and therefore makes us feel better about ourselves. its the same reason why people watch TV shows like Easterners, these shows have people with big life problems and difficulties. this makes us feel more secure about our own lives. its the human condition, we'll take anything that will distract us from our own problems. and laughing at other peoples problems is just one way in which people get through life. we're not making fun of those people directly, we're just trying to get through life.

All I can say is that those people usually get a rule awakening down the road. Perhaps someone very close to them one day will be diagnosed, maybe their child, and then they will look at life a little differently. I see it happening to the most unsuspecting people all the time.

Its because they are SCARED they have their OWN inhibitions and failures
That makes them scared to let people see the true person they are with flaws
So they laugh and scoff at others with flaws
Hoping you do not see theirs

Ignorance, cruelty, and an inferiority complex.
People who feel inferior feel the need to feel superior to someone, so they pick on something, it could be special needs, or it could be appearance, race, money, sexuality, .... anything. It doesn't matter so long as they can get together and snigger.
Just move on, don't let it worry you.
