It was self defense, because the shark was attacking me since I had a small cut on my arm. My question is- Will I get in trouble? Aren't they an endangered species? Should I turn myself in?

Since you technically do not train to kill or maim, you have no idea how many pounds per square inch are required to break bone, or in this case, cartilage. If it comes up in court, this is what you should testify to.
You did what you thought was right, man, and now you're alive to tell the tale. That shark had it coming, swimming around like it owns the whole place...
God bless you, my friend.

Turn yourself in and explain what happen. The local authorities will most likely have protocol. Because the kill occurred during an attack, you won't get in trouble. The law is there to protect the sharks from fisherman and poachers. It is not designed to force you to choose its life over yours. You are not fish food and there for acted in a manner in which prevented you from an inevitable death or dismemberment. Shark attacks are documented by several organizations and it's important you report it. If many attacks occur in the same area in too close a time frame they take action by closing the beaches and research begins to find out why. Go get your name in the paper!

don't worry, you are allowed to defend yourself against a shrak. i'm not sure if it's an endagered species, but that doesn't matter when it's attacking you. if you're unsure you cna go to local authorities, and tell them what happened, they'll tell you what to do.
again, don't worry, it's not like you killed it with a gun or something.
oh, and get your elbow checked by a doctor, just in case you hurt it.

first, have your elbow looked at by a doctor. second, haul the carcass to a butcher and have it cut into steaks. (keeps for 6 months in freezer)

You can't get in trouble for things you did in your imagination, so don't worry. You are only responsible for things that happened in real life.
