I never really thought about this before, but there is actually a pretty easy answer.
You could just casually walk in to a Doctor's office, Dentist's office, even some auto service centers - anywhere where there is a waiting area. There are usually magazines scattered all around. Just take a couple and walk out. I doubt very much that anyone will make a fuss - so long as you don't stop in at the same places more than once every 6 months or so.

I don't buy mag. subsc.I go to the library and check them out.
I don't have the space for them and this way I can read them and return them.
