In a way, I AM ready to go back to school. As much as I enjoy summer break, it does get a bit long and boring at this point in the summer. I enjoy seeing the new kids and my colleagues that I consider dear friends at school as well. Ours is the only profession that has such a clear beginning and end each year, and I am grateful for the chance to regroup and recharge each summer. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would keep doing what I do. My outlook is definitely better than it was last June when school was just getting out. Have a great year, teachers!

I am very anxious to get back to school and see my new group of kids. Personally, I think summer break is too long! For the first three weeks or so, the break is wonderful. However, after about a month I crave the stress, responsibility, pressure, and other tasks that teachers have during the year. I know it's weird! I guess I kind of feel like I'm not being a productive even though I'm "recharging my batteries". I do know that having these feelings mean that the "teaching" fire still burns brightly inside.

Yep, anytime. My school did not have even a proper library. Today there is much more at school. You have more freedom, you can choose a topic that really interests you and then cover the way you like, as much as there is an understanding between teacher/student. And how about the cane? Nothing like that today. Here in Oz, a Bachelor of Science -Surf Studies is to start next year. So imagine that, having surfing as a subject. That's what a call a school in open air.

Hell No! But we started last week! I live in Florida and didn't have any air conditioning (or books or anything else my kids need). I wonder why the district/state isn't ready for school to start!!!! Regardless, I love meeting my new little darling babies (11th and 12th graders) and getting to share in their victories and struggles. Reminds me what is important in life.

Ready or not, volleyball coaching starts up on Monday for me. Honestly, though, as much as I enjoy summer, it's even better when the school year starts.

Maxma must be warped! (haha) Well, ready or not, school has already started for me. The classrooms are so hot and humid that everyone is miserable. I hope no one really expects much learning to go on for the first few weeks!

well, in France we go back to school on Sept. 4th and 5th. But I'm not looking forward to it actually. Still have some time to prepare myself.

Yes! I need to see my kids again to remind me why I'm in this racket. I also thrive on structure in my day and deadlines to meet.
