It all really depends on what your budget is, and how often you are going to use it. Gas power is the fastest and best. There are two types of gas, straight shaft and curved ones. The curved shaft weedeaters are junk.... DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON ONE! shindaiwa makes the finest weedeater i feel. Stihl also makes a good one. Aslo you can buy a power head and this takes diffrent ends, so you can use the powerhead as a weedeater if you have that extention part, powershear, etc.... this tool is fairly costly, but if you want gas shears this is a great option. I personally use maruyama powerhead with the weed eater and power sheer attachments, it has been great.... but it is costly.

I would suggest that, if you're buying a gaspowered weedeater, that the most important part is to make sure that it's comfortable for you to use, and easy to replace the string. Otherwise, know your budget, and go with a mid-range piece of equipment.

I have a Toro, a Bolens, a weedeater, and a Husqvarna.
I will replace all the others with the Husqvarna- it starts on the first pull EVERYTIME.

Depends on your application and frequency of use. If just occasionally then buy a good electric one, this way you will not have to fool with the gas and oil mix etc. plus are lighter weight. If you will use a lot then get a gas one that is top of the line like Stihl.

I have a Black & Decker electric weedeater. It is lightweight, easy to use, easy to change string and you don't have to 'bump' as it feeds automatically. It also easily converts to an edger and does a great job. Plus it is very inexpensive.

low-priced ones will purely provide you are concerned. shop up if necessary and spend slightly extra for something which will final. I purely ditched a one-year previous weed eater form that I paid 85 greenbacks for brand new. shopper comments purely rated the Stihl FS 40 5 a proper purchase. bought it and prefer it. $a hundred and forty. starts on 2d or third pull every time. extremely-gentle at purely 9#, and particularly quiet for a gas form. you does not be upset.... Cheers!

I have a echo weed eater and Absolutely love it. I' Ve had it for 3 years and its still running strong. I have the GT-200R. I bought my rebuilt and works as good as a new one for 99$. New ones run around 149$. That may seem high but it worth every penny. They are availble at home depot.
