Dear fellow member,
Yes you can literally but can cost you tons of money. Ontrack is a company that specializes in hardcore data recovery in their laboratory. If your data isn't that important, just let it go, get a new hard drive, rebuild. You can try Norton Disk Doctor which is very effective at scanning crashed hard drives which are still able to be detected and seen in the BIOS of the computer's motherboard. This software recovers data and marks bad areas of your drive so you can safely recover the data you need. But afterwards you will want to buy a new hard drive or replace your hard drive if it is still under warranty.
Kind Regards,
Ben

If you are able to get the drive up and running again there is a good chance your photos OK.
If you have really important photos on the drive I recommend you take the drive to a professional that specializes in hard drive recovery. It will not be cheap to have it done but there is a good chance that they can recover everything for you. Good luck!

the best program is spinrite usually operates in dos, and you will need an additional drive.
it would be a good idea to have your pc checked out to see what caused the crash, alot of times other bad hardware will ruin a second device if it has not been remedied.
