1) Acknowledge the victim, and that for every criminal caught there are likely many more victims of crimes that are never succesfully prosecuted.
2) Punishment should always demand restitution to the victim, including an amount for pain and suffering. Punishment should also demand restitution to the court to compensate for their time, as an incentive for plea bargaining. Jails in part should demand work from prisoners so that their victims may be compensated.
3) There are violent people in this world, and therefore they need to be separated from the public. Jail sentences for violent crimes should increase for repeat offenders, so that consistently violent people are removed from society for at least 25 years, until they have aged significantly.
4) Those who serve jail time should be required to complete a high school education. They should be required to work for priveledges such as television time, free time, and discretionary items like cigarettes, magazines, candy, special foods, etc. The purpose of jail should be a place where convicts can work to repay their debt to their victims. Those not willing to do that should receive only basic food and water supply.

No. i really believe that criminal habit stems from what someone reviews as a baby. when I used to artwork for a probation/parole place of work what really struck me replaced into how tousled most of the probationers/parolees were. Many had very abusive or dysfuctional childhoods; many were taught a thanks to commit crimes by way of their mothers and fathers. those certain probationers/parolees live lives that are outside of society and they do no longer view themselves as element of society. a large type of them were under no circumstances dealt with with comprehend or care, so that you won't be able to be suprised at the same time as they manage all and distinctive else without comprehend or care. putting someone in penal complex for an prolonged time would not help something except it can tutor that man or woman a thanks to be a more effective acceptable rapist or burglar. you should consider that ultimately, that man or woman will be loose back. for sure the shortcoming of existence penalty does no longer end crime because human beings proceed to commit henious acts hostile to others.

Allow welfare recipients the option of receiving handouts in the form of free cigarettes, crack, heroin, meth, and liquor instead of free money. That won't solve the problem, but it will certainly reduce crime. We will also need to legalize domestic violence. Let nature resolve those disputes. You know, keep it in the household. According to statistics and dilligent research, we would see an 87.3% reduction in all crime within the first 6 months.

Put all the criminals who already in prison on a island somewhere and let 'em all kill each other, and the next round that commits crimes, put 'em all in one big pen and shoot 'em all. Then maybe there wouldn't be a third bunch of criminals, 'cause by then, they'd get the idea that we weren't gonna put up with their crap anymore.

TODAYS CRIME PROBLEMS ARE A PRODUCT 0F PREVIOUS
GENERATIONS NOT BEING AS STRICT IN ENFORCING MORAL STANDARDS IN THIER CHILDREN AND THIER CHILDREN ...ETC
THE SOLUTION IS TO GET BACK TO PARENTS TEACHERS AND OTHER INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE HOLDING THE YOUNGER
GENERATION MORE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIER ACTIONS
AND LET THE PEOPLE THAT GET INTO TROUBLE EARLIER IN LIFE PAY THIER OWN CONSEQUENCES
IN OTHER WORDS YOUR GUILTY IT DOES NOT REALLY MATTER WHY PAY THE PRICE FOR THE WRONG

Just one of many things.....when criminals are given the death penalty, it shouldn't take years to give them their punishment. If criminals were actually afraid of the consequences of their illegal actions, maybe they'd think twice about doing them.
