"substition"
A super-stition is something everyone believes, but isn't true (knocking on wood gets rid of bad luck, etc.)
A sub-stition is something which is true, but no one believes. (For example, it *will* get worse if you scratch it, you most likely won't get rich playing the lottery, George W. Bush is in fact a human being...)
The term was coined by British writer Terry Pratchett, author of the "Diskworld" novels.

onomatopoeia (awn-o-maht-o-PEE-ya) :o)
It's when in a poem you have a word that sounds like the sound it is describing, like "buzz" or "pop" or "murmur."

"Snickerdoodle Washington"--it's what my little sister nicknamed one of my cats, and I still crack up every time I say it. :)
