Create a forgiveness coupon and put it in a card. Have it say something like:

This coupon entitles the bearer to be forgiven for one really awful thing they did. The only condition is that the bearer can not say anything bad about themselves or talk about the incident to the giver of the coupon or the forgiveness will be taken back. It will be replaced not by anger of the incident but anger that the bearer does not see how wonderful of a person they are.

Just tell him that if he really wants to give over it and forgive himself, just love you, treat you like the queen you are and have him take you out for a very special romantic dinner.

Its true, there is a sucker born every minute. How many minutes ago were you born?

While you are working on that, consider this; your husband isnt as guilty as he lets on, but if he pretends to be afflicted with something (guilt ), then your healing, nurturing instinct kicks in and you become too concerned with his well being to see the truth.

Guaranteed he is still hitting it.

He needs to go through his own process. I am sure it helps him that he knows you forgave already.

Let him do it as his own pace.

unfortunately, that is something that you can not make him do. He will just have to work on it, and in time he might be able to if you show him that you still love him, and that you are not going to throw it up in his face with every little fight. it will take some time for him to heal just as much as you.

You can't, he has to do it himself. He has his own guilt to work through. Just tell him you love, and do not keep bringing it up.
