Dropping. Some time during the final few weeks you may notice that your baby has moved down lower in your abdomen. Most first-timers notice their babies dropping within two weeks of delivery, though some mothers "drop" as many as four weeks before D-day. Second-time mothers often find their babies do not drop lower until labor begins, because mom's pelvic muscles have already been stretched, and no warm-up is needed. Baby's head settling into the pelvis is also called "lightening" (because the lower-riding load seems smaller and lighter) or "engagement" (since baby's head engages the pelvic opening). Whether baby "drops," "lightens," or "engages," you will feel and look different. Your breasts probably no longer touch the top of your abdomen. You might be able to sense baby's head resting just beneath the middle of your pelvic bone

I am 39 weeks pregnant and I had the same thing happen. I woke up one morning and he was much lower. I can actually breathe now but I am constantly going to the bathroom because of the added pressure on my bladder. He dropped about 3 weeks ago. Another thing is my hips hurt pretty bad sometimes because of his head being so low and spreading everything down there. But if I were you I would make a call to my doc just to be sure. I am sure that is what it is! I wish you the best and good luck!!

Yes, you can definatley say that your baby has decended into the birth canal. Lightening, as it is called can happen anywhere from 30 weeks-labour.
There are many was to tell that your baby has dropped
1. You can breath again
2. You have to pee more and more
3. You feel slight pressure in your pelvis
4. You can visibly see your stomach is lower.

Now this by no way means that you should rush to the hospital. It is normal for the baby to drop. If you start getting regular contractions (about 5 mins apart) go to the hospital because then its time. Congrats and have a safe and fast delivery.

How far along are you? My baby dropped a few weeks before he was due. And yes, you can tell. It's basically what you described. For some it feels like walking with something between your legs. You can breath easier, go pee more often, and you can visibly see that they aren't were they were when you started.
Talk to your doctor and make sure everything is okay though. Some babies have a habit of dropping and then climbing back up. Mine did.

ok it depends on how big your caring the baby but before the baby has dropped it would have been right under you ribs but if the baby has dropped there should now be a space. Put your hand at the top of your tummy and if your full right up your rib cage then the baby has not dropped. if you can put say about 4 fingers between your ribs the new top of your belly the baby has dropped.

They can confirm/deny if your baby has dropped by doing an ultrasound. It usually happens in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy.

I would definitely do something about relieving all that stress. It could cause complications or premature delivery.

Yup, your baby probably did drop, which means he/she has lowered herself/himself in your pelvis to prepare for birth. But, remember, your labor could sitll be weeks off. My son dropped a full 3 weeks before I had him.....good luck and Congratulations. And remember, now you can breathe easier since the baby is not crammed against your lungs but you will have to pee a lot more! Isn't pregnancy fun?
