wrap them in plastic wrap when you first get them. Then just hose 'em off.

If you can I would say to take them to the cleaners, but depending on what kind of pillows that they are that may cost as much as just getting some new ones. So check the label, as most can be put in the washer and dryer, just don't try to overstuff them in the washer or dryer!!!!
Also a little Febreeze goes a long way!

If they aren't feather or down ....
There should be a label. Most of the synthetic ones can be washed, and should be regularly. I've never had a problem. For standard or queen, you can put two in a regular washing machine. For king or the body pillows, usually only one, but you may need to wash something else in there to balance the load.
I usually use hot water...and then make sure you dry them really well. Nothing worse than waking up to discover your pillow wasn't as dry as you thought it was.....

Depends on what's in them; if they're down-filled, you can wash them on gentle cycle in your washing machine, but you'll have to dry them in the dryer with something like tennis balls to kind of beat them and fluff them as they tumble (otherwise, they'll end up in a big lump on one end) If they're foam, hand wash and squeeze out excess water before hanging to dry (do not put in dryer, or they'll melt) Best bet is to look at the care tag on the pillow; they should tell you the preferred method for cleaning.

As long as they're feather or down, set the washer on "extra large" and "gentle". Wash them one at a time. Don't put them in the dryer. Set them up somewhere where as little as possible of them is touching a surface, and then turn them when the exposed part is dry. It can take a couple of days for them to completely dry.
After they are dry, put on some of those plastic, zip-on covers. Its worth it.

It depends what they are made of. Check the label or inspect what they are made of.
Polyester filled ones can often be washed in the washing machine and tumble dry most of the way and finish air drying
outside or on a drying rack.
I think feathers are a pain.

Throw them in the dryer (dry) with a dryer sheet and put on high heat for 1/2 hour or so. They will come out fresh.

Ive washed mine before, one or two at a time, hot water, gentle.
then dryer .
Problem is they some times come out lumpy.
I usually buy new ones, when I do you can by a zippered cover for them that is easily removed and washed.
Usually labeled as hypo allergenic.
