when I was like 12-13 years old, my friend and I were walking down the street and we found a package wrapped on the side of the road, so naturally we picked it up and opened it, it had a hand written letter, with a request for us to pee in our panties and leave them in the box......we went home and dunked some undies in the toilet and stuck 'em back in the box and left it where we found it, the next day we walked by the same place and found a $5 bill in the box, and another letter, also some porn photos, with a request to leave more undiesw, we did the same thing, next day there was $20 and a vibrator with more dirty photos...my mom found the box in my room, so we told her the whole story...she nearly killed me, and called the cops...Now that I am a mom, I can't believe how stupid it was for us to be doing that, and it scares me to think what stupid kids get themselves into......I will warn mine not to be so dumb

This is weird but gross. One day when I got up from my toilet, I looked down and there was this skinny reddish brown lizard/gecko. You could have heard me scream from here to California. I called out water department and they had no idea where it came from or how it got there...it was just so weird.
I was afraid to try and flush it down, because I was sure it would just come back from wherever it had come from in the first place. I finally put it out in the yard, and it disappeared.
For the longest time I looked extra carefully before I flushed, but none of it's buddies ever surfaced. My friends thought it was a hysterical story and gave me a small bronze lizard exactly like that one, and it sits on top of my monitor...we call it the monitor lizard. So maybe the story of the alligators in the sewers of New York might actually be true after all.

My girlfriend and I served with the Red Cross in NOLA last September. Of course, about the only people in this big city were other volunteers and military and police, etc.
Beside one of the canals, I found an open bible lying on the ground, carefully placed atop a curb stop. It hadn't floated there. It was all wrinkled from rain. It hadn't rained, as far as I know, since Katrina.
I have pics of it. If anyone contacts me, I will give you the url where it's posted online.

I don't know if this will qualify, but when I was about 12, I was just sitting in the water on the beach and saw something shiny. I went to pick it up thinking that it was a champagne wrapper... It was an antique gold coin the size of my palm (at the time)! I was stunned.

one of my friends in college found a cat that had been petrified b/c of cold weather or something. Anyway, he kept it in his room thinking he'd use it for an art project, and we found it when we were helping clean out his dorm before graduation...
