I've had my leopard gecko for about 2 and a half months now. Once in a while it gets to socialize with my friend's leopard gecko and they get along great. I only have a 10gal tank and am taking it to college with me (we are not allowed to have a tank larger than 10gal). Do you think my gecko would enjoy having a friend, or who she prefer to continue being an only gecko? Also, would a 10gal tank be a little tight for two anyways?

Most reptiles are solitary creatures - there are a few exceptions.
Actually reptiles are more likely to fight or be stressed if they have cage mates that they can not get out of the sight line of the other cage mates. And stress can kill especially in newly acquired reptile pets.

Leopard geckos do fine by themselves. A male & one or a few females will probably be ok also but they nust ahve many different hiding spots. It is usually a mistake to house multiple male lizards together.

Good luck.

I keep all of my leopard geckos on a rack system each gecko has it's own bin. they do not need to have a buddy. housing more then one in a tank can cause stress but all geckos are different I have some that do like to hangout with others. but a 10gal is only big enough for one. during breeding season I have a male and a female in the same tank but only for a week at a time. the smallest size tank I would use for two geckos would be 20gal Long tank

Geckos will live in small groups, but most of them are loners. It all depends on what it's temperament is. It sounds like yours is pretty friendly.
Second question you have to ask yourself is, "Can I afford two geckos?" If yes, then go right ahead and get another one, but also be careful. It sounds like you wouldn't want to have baby geckos in the next couple of years.
Mostly reptiles and fish will only get as big as the tank allows. Leopard geckos don't get very big anyways so a ten gallon tank should be a fine place for them.

My manager actually answered this question for me at work just a couple days ago for me to answer a customer (I work at a Petsmart).

Geckos can be territorial and are perfectly okay by themselves, especially if you give it at least a little attention from you every day. Sometimes two or more can get along but it isn't recommended that you try to introduce them unless you have a larger tank, at least a thirty galon. A ten gallon is fine for one gecko, but I wouldn't try it with two.

Are you absolutely certain it's a female? Because two males will fight very badly. And a male with a single female will harass her to no end. Two females would get along but a 10 gallon would be way too small for two. Having just one is good because you can moniter exactly how much it eats. And leos are perfectly happy being solitary, they have no need of compionship.
