Oh, yes. Generally I think people from Europe have better style of dress and manners than Americans. And most Europeans don't really care for us. They think we're rude, and we generally are ruder. Except for the English. They are down right nasty in their media. Why do you think Lady Di wanted to live here? Americans worship celebrities, but usually don't hate them or rip them apart the way British press does. We usually just want to look at what they're doing, or get ideas for fashions from them.

I know Germans can't stand Americans. Don't know why, just know there must be a reason. A lot of Americans aren't welcome in German nightclubs. Probably because they think they'll cause trouble, which they probably will. Americans think the French are rude, and the French think we're stupid. Probably because they are, and we are, too. JK. Americans are thought of as undisciplined by Europeans, because we like to goof off, and have multiple choice questions on most of our tests all throughout our educations. They don't understand the "hands-on" philosophy, and like to memorize things more from books. I hope this answered your question.

There are cultural and social differences. I don't know about mentality.
Remember almost all Caucasian North Americans have roots back into Europe.
Caucasian North American history only goes back some 500 years, European history goes back several thousand years.

They are more mature. They are organized, non-chaotic, goal-oriented, intellectual, serene, health-conscious, environmentally friendly, not gun-crazy, child-friendly, academically advanced, serious, not inhibited.... and so on.

Take the time to visit a western european country for at least 60 days! Take a summer course and stay with a host family. Experience a new way of life.

Americans are more religious (despite the previous poster's BS'ing) and value money, oil and masses rather than European's who value cultureand history more.

Americans tend to be less traveled and more ignorant of the outside world (outside of the USA)

whilst i think of there are each and every from time to time perceived ameliorations, human beings tend to be distinctly lots a similar throughout -mentality and behaviour ameliorations are not as super as some look to have faith. Having traveled somewhat and having met human beings from around the globe, i think of there is a few distance greater advantageous distinction of their accents than in unquestionably theory or habit.
