Why are some people cat people, and some people dog people?

Usually depends on what they grew up with. I like cats, but I love dogs. It's not that one is better, though. Just depends on what kind of relationship you want to have with your pet. Dogs tend to be more active; cats usually require less maintenance. But both can be very friendly and affectionate if they're raised that way.

It is usually the way they were raised. I like the barking of a dog. I love the softness & aloofness of a cat. Dogs understand commands easier than a dog and require more attention. Cats are alot like dogs in a way, if they know you feed it they will follow you around like dogs do. I love both.

well most ppl tend to like one or the other. myself i like cats better cause there more affectionate. plus u can cuddle them a bit better. they r also quite clean and self reliant. dogs r nice too cause i love animals in general (except for the slimy ones like snakes and lizards, and insect kind) dogs r good for protection and just simple companionship. they will always remain loyal to u forever. to me i think it all depends on the person. ive seen some cat lovers become a dog lover in a snap and vice versa. me, ive had a lot of fun watching my cats play with each other and on their own. we never really had small dogs b4 but they r cute just as much.

I dont kno. But im not really a cat or dog person i would perfer a horse. I got a cat and a couple of dogs, but i LOVE horses!!!!!!!

because some people only have room in their hearts for one of them. Personally, I have room for all animals exept poisenous snakes, arachnids and insects. Maybe thats 90% of my compassion for people went...
