I never comprehend what I am seeing in my mind...it always happens spontaneously...it usually depicts something ordinary, and I blow it off...until it takes place... then I experience total recall. It's as though I make note of it, but fail to register it as anything unusual. It's happened a significant number of times. I now recognize it as signposts...it allows me to know if I am on the right path. The actual incident can take place in a few hours or a few years...I have no clear sense of time when it takes place. It will include auditory approximately 50% of the time...and I will receive an impression of conversation that makes no sense to me at the time...until I hear it...and then I know what will be said before it is said. I will never get used to it.

In order for you to see anything it must be a series of electric impulses that you interpret as images. So they are most definitely in your brain, why they are there is a wholly different question. ESP psychics or just the inherent background brain noise we call creativity.
