I took phenergan for the first 4 months of my pregnancy for severe nausea. I'm now just a week or two away from delivery and I'm wondering if it would be ok to bring the phenergan with me to the birthing center in the event that I need it for relaxation and/or prevention of nausea/vomiting. Anyone used this during labor? Effectiveness?

yes i took phenergan during my labor, didnt work for me. i have a higher drug tolerance than the average person so i needed more. if you think you will need some during ur labor they will provide it for you. but make sure you tell them how much milligrams you take so they wont under or over medicate you.

My doctor prescribed me phenergan when I was put in the hospital for dehydration. He gave me 6 refills and told me I wouldn't need them all but take them when I did need them and as long as I didn't rely on them everyday, every 4 hours, that they would not affect the baby. Congrats!

honey, you aren't going to need it. believe me. go, take the drugs, puke your guts up if you need to. i doubt if you will. too much will be happening. you'll be fine. PUSH, PUSH, PUSH.

plus, your system shuts down internally while in labor. everything goes to the birthing process (ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY). if you need phenergan or anything else, they're going to give it to you intravenously. TAKE THE DRUGS! and the best of luck on a new bouncing baby beauty!
