It all depends on how you deleted the program. If you followed their uninstall then a clean uninstall should have occurred. If not entries in the registry may still be there and they need to be removed. The authorization error could mean you aren't logged on as administrator. Check your user rights. The way to do this depends on your operating system. If you’re using XP/home then go to control panel/user accounts and click on your user account. Then choose change account type. At the top it will tell you if you're an administrator or not. Close that screen. If you're an administrator then the problem is strictly in the registry. You can use regedit from start/run/ and then type in regedit. Choose export registry and save a copy of the registry for back up. Then go to edit then find and type the name of the program you uninstalled. It will find the first instance of that name. Delete the value then hit F3 to find the next instance. Be very careful not to delete keys that contain values for other programs. If deleted these could cause the system to not function. In most cases sticking with the values and not the keys are the best way to remove them. The keys will appear on the left side and values on the right. There could be as many as 500 entries for just one program. Another alternative is to use system restore. Go to start/programs/accessories/system tools /restore. Run the restore program and choose a date before you removed this program. This will not replace the deleted files but you can restore them from the recycle bin on the desktop. Then go back and follow removal directions from the publisher or use add/remove programs in control panel. If you had problems with only one disk the trouble was not in the software. All disks are not created equal and some readers track differently than others. It is therefore possible to have a disk which other computers have no problem reading but your's can't read it. If it becomes a real problem take the computer back and have the drive checked. Sometimes if the drive speed or head alignment is a little off it will have trouble with some disks.

you could be playing a disk with security or anti-computer software protection. Will the disk play in a normal CD player? If so then that is probably the case.

You dont deserve a laptop, you should not have one until you can learn that if everything except one certain disk does not play, it is obviously the disk and not the laptop.
Oh, and learn to use the shift key to do a large letter I
