He has recorded one or two decent songs ( in my opinion at least ) namely 'Spanish Train', and for a laugh 'Patricia the Stripper', the latter always evoking memories of my local pub landlady in my more mis-guided years!

First off, and most importantly, he has zero f'n charisma. No mojo.
Second, yes he wrote some good songs but they're all from the 80s and today they sound bad.
