It's from one of the Latin countries like Italy, Spain, Portugal, etc. The male version of Rosa.

Names don't necessarily have nationality. Many names can be found in several countries, especially if those countries share linguistic roots (like Italy and Spain do).

I believe it is spanish, possibly italian, but I think it has an "i" in it instead of an e.

my guess is spanish. that name seems to be common amongst the spanish and filipinos, but spelled as rosario.
