it is real

I mean the acrobatics, the choreography, the danger of injury are all real and very difficult.

yes its scripted, its theater, but it is also real

that said, I haven't watched it since childhood, the dramatic story lines are too stupid and repetitive.

OK I've said this before but I will say this again as well.

It is predetermined... and if that makes it fake then yes it is.

At the same time, the men and women wrestlers work very hard on their bodies and practice very hard to understand the business. And it takes a lot of tallent to pick up a 350 lb man and put him down making it look like you hurt him without actually hurting him. So in this aspect it is very much as real as any other sport.

So does knowing that the outcome is predetermined really matter that much?

If it wasn't predetermined and these people were actually trying to hurt each other then there would be no way for them to do a weekly show. Most of the tallent would be in the hospital for a month at a time after a match.

And actually, even with them trying not to hurt each other any more than what is needed for the show they still get badly hurt from time to time. Many of them have had neck surgery or back surgery and some have been died or been left paralized.

So other than the outcome being predetermined is it really that fake when you consider what they have to do on a weekly basis?

I don't think so.

So to answer your question... no it doesn't disgust me.

I watched it for 3 yrs after I found out. It can still be very entertaining. But now I can not watch it for more than once a month. It annoys me that I can tell when one guy is allowing the other to win.

That being said, I do think that the wrestlers are true athletes. And that wrestling is not for any one and that it is not as easy as it looks.

what does this have to do with Pres. Chimpy being a moron?

BTW....what do you think the word "entertainment" in "World Wrestling Entertainment" meant? It's just a bunch of people doing stunts (physically punishing ones at times) to a script that has a pre-determined outcome.

It's entertainment. The action is real (they really get hit and stuff), but it's all scripted most of the time. If you want to see an actual competition go watch ultimate fighting.

It's real, in the sense that it is a PHYSICAL entertainment.

The stories, are scripted. The injuries...REAL.
