I know Yahoo answers is not a forum to vent our frustrations and pet peeves, however I feel the need to ask this question.
Is it a sense of aloneness that they feel it's ok to take the little doggy into the grocery store or mall or anywhere for that matter? Are these people certain the world will be better if everyone in it is subjected to their large eyed, quivering "little baby"?
What happened to the signs and health issues associated with animals in public places? Or are these little darlings not considered animals since mommy and daddy are holding them?

Please don't misunderstand, I love pets, all pets and I feel we are truly better people for having a pet. Although, I believe that pets should be kept at home when you are running an errand or going on an outing.

Please forgive the possible misplacement of this question.

I think a lot is that the tini pup parents think people won't care or see them so they can get away with it. Yes most stores have signs up if no pets allowed but when it comes to a working dog then there is an exception and then yes they can even in the produce department and I have gotten many many looks in that area from people who don't look at my girl's badge. As for the "pocket pets" they should not take them in. if anything when you see someone with a dog ask if they are a service or assistance dog and if they look puzzled report them to the customer service people.

I agree with you. People pamper little animals too much. They think that since they are small and cute like a child they should be treated as such maybe I dont know. It drives me nuts though maybe because I live on a farm and dont have any small animals I Have a dog but hes about the size of a pony lol.

Because of Paris Hilton, may she rot! There are going to be thousands more Chihuahuas put to sleep every year with fools following her example and not realizing that cute dogs are not always well-behaved dogs!

I agree with you that is is annoying. People treat pets like they're children. On the other hand if you pay that kind of money for something you don't want to leave it outside

You are in the right place, (I think) okay, for what its worth, dogs can be substitute children.....substitutes for children who have passed away, moved away, or are just plain Away......like college or married, whatever.......we just love our animals in a different way, for one thing, they dont talk back, (well , our doxie does, lol) they dont mess up their rooms, (well, honey loves toilet paper)
ummm they eat what is put in front of them (well, if it gets cold she'll still eat it!!) and DONT MAKE ME COME BACK THERE!!!!
she stays in a car carrier for pets when we go traveling. have a great day, sharon from oHIo........Cedar point rocks

ok...If they get to carry their little dogs everywhere.....I'll bring my horses! lol. That'd be hard though. Going into McDonald's with two 1000-pound horses? te he. It would scare the crap out of those little dogs though!

Or I'll just take my Golden. He's like a miniature horse....
