I'd sing "Take This Job And Shove It" (and would intentionally do a bad job of it) - not because I hate my job, but rather because I think my fellow Americans pay FAR too much attention to the glitzy, fleeting, impermanent, and showy rather than the good things in life; and would prefer to subtly tell the judges what I think about them and their stupid show.
I'd like to think Voltaire and H.L. Mencken would be proud...

Me and Bobby MaGee a Janis Joplin tune, because I can sing like her a bit, and I love that song...but I would never actually audition fo A.I., I would not want to be cut down so badly if they didn't like it...people tell me I have a great voice, but you here all of the contestants say that, right before Simon rips 'em apart

I always sound really good singing a song called "Grandma," by Jon Nicholson. It's a beautiful song about a 92 year old woman getting stoned for the first time, with a serious message about enjoying your life.
