My a/c only works when the truck is moving. The cooling fan doesn't come on and I already checked the fuse. So maybe it's the motor for the fan? Or a sensor? Also, the a/c compressor is "cycling" but I don't think there are any leaks and I had the freon recherged semi-recently. I live in Phoenix and it's brutal in traffic as only hot air blows, but it gets cold when the truck is moving. I'm completely clueless with all this, I'm going by what the mechanics said when I got my last oil change. Would all this be caused by the fan not working?

its your fan, the reason the compressor is cycling is because its most likely pegging the high side and causing it to shut down, or cycle. the fan has to work, especially in phoenix. check for a fuse, a relay and then a bad fan

Your fan is definitely not working. It cools when you are moving because the air passing over the fans blades are causing it to turn. I had this problem also and it was a fuse for me. It is a 20 amp fuse but you have said you have already checked it to make sure but check it once more. It was the fuse for me. If the fuse is fine then it sounds like your fan is in need of being replaced.

Get the cooling fan fixed. If your cooling fan is not working then your A/C high pressure cut out switch might be disabling A/C operation. Without the cooling fan the system pressure will be excessively high and the high pressure switch will disable the A/C compressor from operating as a safety precaution. Get the fan problem fixed and it may very well fix both of your concerns.

Your cooling fan should come on when the A/C is on. If the fuse is good, it is either a bad relay or a bad fan motor. Use a test light to see if you have power to the fan. If you do, the fan motor is bad. If not, it is a relay or wiring problem!

This appears like the A/c filter out is freezing up on you. at the same time as that occurs the freon can't go back from a gas to a liquid. replacing the inline filter out might want to be finished with the aid of someone who's experienced and has the perfect kit. those platforms are below very hight rigidity and could damage you if your no longer conscious of them.

Something with the blower motor-a sensor, relay, switch, a belt off. My dad had a customer whose heat wouldn't blow. Turns out a squirrel had got in there, got stuck, and passed away. The customer wondered what that "funny" smell was!!!
