Really think hard about the way you have been acting or acted in the past. Have you been a grouchy person before, put him through tough times, or done anything that would provoke this? Just asking because, I went through a phase like this with my wife. I helped her through some pretty tough times and then she treated me like it was my privilege to do it. So I decided to turn the tables and treat her like she treated me. On everything she would do or ask I would respond the way I know she would if I was the one asking. She got so angry at me, but it proved a point to me, that I shouldn't take the way she was treating me.

So look long and hard in the mirror first.

If this is not the case, then yes, he is looking for a way to start a fight to get you to be mad at him so he can complain to the lady he likes now.

You did not give much information - but it could be a lot of factors such as stress at work, money, etc. I would try to just let him work through this - now if it keeps up for more than a week I would sit him down and ask what the problem is. If he still will not talk about the problem with you then it could be much bigger than what I suggested.

Lots of things. Is he having problems at work? Family? Friends?
Is he getting enough sleep? Is he exhausted and just needs some rest? Are you having financial problems? The best thing to do is say "Honey, you haven't been yourself lately. Is there anything going on in your life that I should know about? Is there something I can help you with? You can talk to me, I'm also your friend." You need to tell him that whatever it is that's bothering him, he's taking it out on you and it's not fair. Don't ask us, ask him!

Start checking your cell phone numbers and credit cards. He's got a girl friend. Check this possibility out before you look any further.
