This is my first month off birth control. My LMP was July 11th,2006. I had unprotected sex with my bf either too early or too late when i was SUPPOSE to ovulate. My periods are like clock work, and i am now 2 days late for my period. I am having light cramping, which can also be signs of pregnancy. No other symptoms of pregnancy or period other then that. Even though according to the "ovulation calculator" it says i missed my peak days (3) does it sound like i could be pregnant? Ive heard birth control can take up to 3-6 months to be out of your system and then i heard u can get pregnant immedietly. Being an CMA i should know this but there are sooo many answers, it really depends on the women and the way her body works. Will take a test in a few days if i dont get my period.

It is not probable.
However it is definitly possible!
Time will tell. I know that it is so hard to wait even a day to find out.
Wishing you the best with conception.
www.babycenter.com go to the trying to conceive section
I know I was practically obsessed when I was trying to conceive and time spent reading up on differnt things about preg and conception helped me alot.
best wishes!

You can get pregnant as soon as you stop birth control, even if you just miss a day it is possible. If you have missed your period take a urine test or go to the doctor for a blood test. You could be pregnant because not everyone gets pregnant on their peak days, why would there be so many unexpected pregnancies?? Also I'm in the same situation, except I am not sure how long my cycles are because I never really took the time to write it down or anything. Good Luck!
ps. If you think your pregnant, your body will start to act like its pregnant (without the growing belly and baby inside part) because you create a hormone (not HCG) that will cause your body to become prepared to cary a child.

If this is your first cycle off birth control then how would you even know that your periods are like clockwork? I mean, of course they were when you were on it; they were artificially regulated to be like clockwork. Chances are your light cramping is a sign that your period is coming.
However, the first few cycles off birth control can be very unpredictable. Even if you did ovulate in your first cycle off it, how would you have any idea *when* you ovulated? An ovulation calculator really can't tell you anything but what would be statistically predicted and in the first post-bc cycle, pretty much nothing can be predicted. I took 58 days before I had my first period off birth control, then regulated at 29 days after that... don't even want to know when an ovulation calculator thinks I might have ovulated in that first 58 days!

Just coming off BC can be playing a huge factor. "Clockwork" periods were based solely on the chemicals you were using to regulate your cycle. Now that you're off of the chemicals, your period may still take a few months to adjust - OR you could very well get pregnant right away (though the chances are exceptionally slim).
If you're only 2 days "late" (and by this I mean that your body's still adjusting and you're using the artificially controlled cycle you were used to) and you have slight cramping, chances are you aren't pregnant and your body's preparing for your period.
Give it some time ... when you're meant to become pregnant you will be!

To be sure, you should take a pregnancy test and then see your doctor.
This actually happened to me once or twice. I wasn't pregnant. It was my body adjusting to the decrease in hormones.
Going off the pill could be what has caused yours to be late. I suggest yout use condoms and/or some type of protection to prevent pregnancy and stds as you can get pregnant really fast after going off. It depends on the person.

You just went off the pill a month ago, chances are you're not even ovulating yet. It takes a few months for your body to re-regulate your periods, you'll spot and skip and double up a few times before it does.
I doubt you're pregnant, not that its impossible. But i doubt it.
Just make sure you're ready to create a child who has no choice in the matter, with a man who isnt you're husband.

You should take a prego test now. You should be able to get an accurate result since you have already missed your period.

I'm no doctor and suggest that you go see one... but having just started the pill - depending which kind - can delay your period.
Good luck!
