Progress is different in every individual because of several factors. To tell the truth, genetics is one of those factors. Children of parents who are obese or are overweight tends to have a slower metabolism and slower progress rate of losing the fat. But if you work hard towards that goal, there is no question that you can't achieve it.
First, I just want to mention that you should not over-do the "no junkfood" rule. In my experience, I've had a friend who went by that rule, but she avoided junk food so much and so suddenly that one day she just splurged. It is okay to have a small amount of burger, candy, pizza etc. once a week or so.
You could enroll in a fitness program at a gym. They usually offer exercises like pilates, cardio workouts or aerobics. I think being part of a class will help you become more committed to the exercise as opposed to trying to do everything at your own motivation. The teacher will keep you going and motivate you.
Also, if you can, running in the morning is always a good way to start the day and a good way to excersise. Drinking a lot of water is also important - drink a lot of water before your meals because believe it or not, when you feel hungry, you may in fact just be thirsty. And if not, it curbs your appetite.
Lastly, it just takes patience. Don't expect immediate results. Have fun with your exercise because if you don't, you won't feel motivated to do it. Have you ever tried Dance Dance Revolution? My little cousin who was overweight began playing this game on Xbox and he really thinned out from all the exercise that is required on this game, and it's really fun too!
But anyway, good luck with everything! :D

try excersizing 6 days a week instead of just 3. Make sure you leave one day open so your muscles can have a rest. You could also try going on the south beach diet. the first 2 weeks you cut out all carbs....by doing this you can lose anywhere from 8-20 lbs in a 2 week period. I know, cause ive been on this diet. They have books on this diet, and a website.

i know the feeling, i started again in feb06, its a long job, just carry on if you gain weight, and get it back off again, aim for a year or more, do it slowly, 1lb a week is fine, 2lb a wk is fab, dont expect anymore a wk, better to plod, walking and swimming is good, 2-3 times a week,,when you want to you have to enjoy what you are doing or you will give up on it. Go to a slimming class, write everything down, plan in advance, so u dont binge, just the weigh in helps keep u on track, so slowly does it, its a life change not a quick diet. good luck

If you are doinf exchese then maybe you can cut down to just chese 3 times a week.
You need to exercise 5 days a week for 30 minutes, and eat 6 small meals a day, and drink 8-8oz of water

how long were you working out for? sometimes people(like my boyfriend) work out and if they dont see results right away-they give up. i tell him it took along time to gain over a hundred pounds and it usually takes twice as long to lose. so be patient and try to stay positive. your mind set plays a huge roll in weight loss. ditch the scale if you have one!! those things are misleading. i slimmed down-dont know how much i weight and dont care. all i know is that my clothes are too big and i look good in my new ones. drink a lot of water. increase your cardio-vasular. i walk everynight. stay away from the weights for now because you can gain weight with muscle and that upsets people too. make small changes over a period of time. its unrealistic to put so many expectations on yourself right away. its easy to become discouraged soon after. do not look at yourself in a full length mirror and study your body everyday. its depressing. try these things called carb interceptors. i get them from walmart. they are natural and have helped me out a great deal. they are about $6.00 a bottle and come in a purple bottle where all the diet crap is. good luck and it can be done.

Here is the secret: give up all dairy and products containing glutin (wheat and grains). it works far too well. when i was 16 i became allergic to these things and dropped 20 pounds in no time. i think it took 3 months when i noticed that big of a drop. i would say 6 just to be on the safe side. btw, soy milk is yuckky.

Eat Healthy and Exercise. 130 lbs is not a problem weight if you are otherwise healthy.
Aerobic exercise 20-30 minutes a day.
Talk with your doctor about health issues and talk with a counselor about body image.

cut pop out of your diet completely drink water if you don't like regular water then get the flavored carbonated water. it worked for me. diets don't work because you can't be on a diet for the rest of your life same with pills and counting calories. eating healthy and making your lifestyle healthier is also a great way, ex. taking the stairs instead of the elevator, going to subway instead of macdonalds ect.. you can't expect results overnight though, for women 1 to 1/2 lbs a week is the best if you want to keep it off.

well. Pilate's works well to get you toned, and follow the food plan in the booklet that comes with, i believe its twenty dollars a month. Its advertises losing a dress size in 10 days. So that is fairly quick, you can cancel at any time and stop paying if you just want one DVD. good luck.
