I am in no dire need of a MacBook. I have my iBook, and it runs fine. A new computer certainly is, however, in my future, and I'm just about certain it will be the MacBook with Super Drive and upgraded internal HD to 120 GB and additional RAM. However, my dilemma stems from the free iPod nano deal they have now. Do I buy a MacBook now and save about $175 on my purchase by selling the iPod nano on eBay, or do I wait until the winter for potential upgrades? I don't really want to wait any longer than the end of 2006, so if there's no upgrades by then, I'll probably buy one anyway.

What would you do in my position? MacBook now or later?

I debated on this too and finally realised that there's no point waiting. Got mine this week and wont regret it.

When the upgraded version comes out, it will be more expensive than now, plus you get a free ipod if you buy now. Give it another coupla months (say 7) and its upgraded again.
Truth is, your computer would not reduce in speed should you buy now or in the future, would still process applications fast.

All the best deciding.

Computer hardware are upgraded very much regularly and this is done within a short time interval so if you are thinking about getting the latest buy what you have at hand now.
After all, if you want the latest, then you will have to wait until manufacturers stop making computers.

The MacBook is quite new, so I don't think Apple will make big changes in it before the end of this year, so yeah, I'd take the leap. No matter when you buy, something better will be along shortly. That's the way it is with computers!
