Walk around the Boston Commons, do some shopping at Downtown Crossing and Fanueil Hall. From Fanueil Hall you can check out the waterfront/aquarium, Quincy Market place. Try to fit in a tour of Fenway Park! They run hourly, and cost about $7.00, well worth it to see the park if you can't catch a game. Oh, and if you're a history buff make sure you walk the freedom trail! Harvard Square is pretty interesting to see and has some good shops. You can go to the top of the John Hancock building for a good view of the city, or go to the Prudential where you can see everything, and then right around that area (copley) there are tons of great bars and a shopping area.On Boylston Street just across from Copley is Whiskeys, which is one of the best sports bars in America (was voted by a few magazines, not just opinion:)! )For food try to go to the Union Oyster House. It's the oldest restaurant in the country, and is actually a historical landmark! Great new england seafood! For good dessert hit up some bakeries of the north end. If your looking for museums try to Museum of Fine Arts on Huntington Ave and the Museum of Science, which has great shows, at the Science Park stop of the Green line Train. There's SO much to do, I hope you enjoy your trip!

Top of the hub has a great view of the city. This restaurant is expensive so I recommend sitting @ the bar, get a drink & maybe an appetizer. The view is so worth it.
Also try to take a tour of Fenway Park. Check Redsox.com for date & time.
A good site to see if you want a historical look @ Boston would be the Freedom Trail... you can get a map on-line and walk it for free.
My favorite spot is Fanuel Hall which has lots of restaurants, kiosks and shops! here you will definetely find some great chowder & other less expensive food in side Quincy Market.
Hope this helped.

Walk the Freedom Trail and see all of the historic sites along that. Take a ferry one day to the Boston Harbor Islands if you're going during the summer/early Fall (they leave from Long Wharf near the aquarium). Go to Harvard Square in Cambridge. See either the Museum of Fine Arts or the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (or both if you're into art museums - they're near each other). Also see Fenway Park - they have tours when the Red Sox aren't playing.
As far as restaurants go: Legal Seafood is overrated and overpriced (not bad but there are better options). The Union Oyster House is my favorite for traditional New England seafood, and Anthony's Pier 4 is good as well. Make sure to go to the North End for Italian food. Any restaurant there is good but my favorite is Giacomo's. They have excellent seafood as well and homemade pasta and great sauces. (Unfortunately they don't take reservations and there could be a line but it's worth the wait. Also they don't take credit cards but there are ATM's everywhere nearby). And if you're in the North End - actually, if you do nothing else, make a special trip to the North End to go to Mike's Pastry. (Modern Pastry and Maria's are good as well). They have the best cannoli everywhere. All of their desserts are good and they have good coffee/espresso also.

The best place to look for good eats is www.roadfood.com I'm sure if you do a search under the forums, where should I eat column, someone will have asked about Boston. Or you can ask yourself and include your specific tastes.
