Your question falls under Cabo San Lucas, so I assume this is where you have your heart set on going? If this is true, try San Jose del Cabo (between cabo and airport) It is WAY more laid back and quiet. Very quaint. Great beaches. Very safe. You could visit Cabo during the day when all the drunk students are passed out or sunning themselves on Medano beach.

Just about anywhere you go in mexico is safe don't listen to the hype it is not true I am an american who has been living here for years there is less crime here then most all states in the US if not all. as far as drunk college kids on spring break you will have to go to a secluded beach for that and by doing this you also probably giving up many luxuries of the more crowaded resort areas not saying this is a bda thing just something to think about

Watch the movie "Man on Fire" with denzel washington. It's based on a true story and it will teach you more than you want to know about mexico. That country is a mess, especially right now with the political drama going on.=)
Consider going to puerto rico instead of mexico..it's cleaner and about the same price range with beautiful beaches.
And it is far from overcrowded with college students.......

I would try Puerto Vallarta. There seems to be more couples and families there than drunk college kids. They have some really nice beach resorts that are pretty affordable. Their downtown area is really nice too.

A great small place called Zihuatenejo. It is right on the ocean about an hour from Acapulco on the southern coast of Mexico.

I'm wondering, why did you make this question in Cabo San Lucas?
Try San Jose del Cabo, is the quiet of Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas means party all day.
In San Jose del Cabo, we have very few small bars, college students find it boring.

There is a beach in oaxaca called huatulco, it is very secluded and there will be no spring breakers. you can also go to cozumel. cabo is also nice, I haven't been there so couldn't tell you, I know it is a big golfing place. and when i worked for mexicana in los angeles nick lachey and jessica simpson went there often.
