IS IT REALLY FOR ATTENTION? BECAUSE USUALLY WHEN I SEE AN ANSWER IN CAPS I THINK THE PERSON IS BEING AN ASSHOLE AND I IGNORE THEM. (sorry to all of you who type that way)

for some it is a matter of poor eyesight. they find it easier to see when using all caps.
go easy on them.
of course, some people just don't know any better. or else they think that by using all caps they are getting more attention. (which is why I clicked on your question. lol)

The people who do use Caps Lock all the time tend to be the ones who are very... shall we say, passionate about their questions and responses. Either that, or they're too lazy to bother pressing the Caps Lock key again.
Oh, no wonder why the Caps Lock questions have one letter in lower-case.

When I went to The Yahoo Answers home page, the text of this question caught my attention. So others probably want to get people's attention for any reason at all. Maybe for advertising, or if they have a question and they really need it to be answered soon.

People are ignorant of etiquette. You're lucky if all they do is use caps - there's a spell check but they can't be bothered to use it. They apparently can't even be bothered to write questions that can be comprehended. People just don't care if they come off as ignorant or just plain stupid.

Because they are lazy. If you type everything all in caps, then you don't have to press the shift key for upper case.

It's probably just a preference. I had a very good friend, that was very intelligent, witty, happily married, and just a very nice guy that passed away just a few months ago. He ALWAYS used all capital letter when he e-mailed people. It didn't bother me at all.

Why can't people type normally? Its so annoying and makes people look just plain ignorant. People are too lazy to type correctly. It doesn't take much extra effort to write out entire words, capitalize when needed, and add proper punctuation.

i once wrote back to a co-worker whom sent me an email subject in caps that "CAPS ARE NO GOOD FOR THE EYES".
