Rosalia Lombardo was a little girl who died at the age of two in 1920. Her remarkably well-preserved body is interred in the Capucin Catacombs. She was embalmed by a Dr. Solafia, of Palermo, who took the secret of his embalming process to his grave. I have not been able to discover the cause of her death. They may have mentioned it in the History Channel program dealing with this, but I'm sorry, I just can't recall. For some reason, I have the notion that she died of pneumonia, but I don't know why I think that. I have not been able to verify or debunk the idea.
