This past Christmas season I was working at a french store in Galleria Mall in Dallas when an african couple walked in the store, they were very upset over our return policy (i couldnt take the item back) and we could barely understand each other. There was a family in the store at the same time, they were pastors at a church in Louisianna, when the situation got really bad to the point where the young man was yelling the pastor got up all in his face and told him that I was his girl and he better back off!!! The african couple didnt know what to say so he just left the store. It felt so good to have a complete stranger stick up for me like that.

I was at a bus stop and it started raining hard and I didn't have a umbrella and this stranger comes over and holds her umbrella over me and herself. I didn't ask her to do it! I wasn't even looking at anybody, just up at the sky. I was so pleased! It had been a really bad day for me and I just felt like crying anyways. The rain only added to my emotional state. I just smiled and thanked her and it was nice to have someone to talk to, to get your mind off yourself and your problems.

When I was in college, a senior who I had a course with gave me her snow tires (she was going to grad school in Arizona). We never really talked much, and certainly weren't friends, but she said all her friends were graduating and leaving, and wouldn't need them.
