It varies based on the episodes. He's kept his money in his matress, in a wall safe, in a wallet that he tucks in. His recipe? In a bottle, on a pedstal, lots of other places. The question is a trick one and doesn't have an exact answer, because the animators change the location to fit the story for that specific episode.

in an episode i saw like 2 days ago, spongbob, patrick, and squidwartbuy him (mr K) a new mattress and threw his old one in tha dump. mr k got mad and made them go get it. sponge and pat were sposed to get it from under the gaurd worm. when they were at the top, squid laid back and the fence flipped over, putting squid in the dump and sponge and pat out side of tha dump.
this is as best i can explain. just don't put your money in your mattress.
when plankton got him stuck in a toilet, the recipes were in a book in a bottle. he found out that krabby patties were made with... planktons!! that was NOT the real recipe.
