I am from S.E. London and have spent about a decade living in or around Peckham - don't think it is that bad a place - but it does smell in Summer

People are a bit agressive there and it's best to keep out of the way of people that look intoxicated

All of S.E. London is getting better each year - you only need to look at house prices in Peckham to see that for yourself

My office mate lives there and it takes him 1 hour to get to work (next to the Barbican) on a good day and 1.5 hours on a bad day. Sounds rather inconvenient. From what he says, the only good thing about it is that it is cheap.

It has seen better days. But all of London seems to be getting better.

My brother lived in that neck of the woods until recently and I've always considered it OK, although that is in comparison to Woolwich where he used to live....
