Yes, a relationship can really last.

To stay close, you both need to respect each other, communicate with each other, work out your problems together, tell each other the truth, and trust each other. You both should also make sure that you develop into worthwhile people even though the other person may be there covering for your weaknesses. There will be some give and take, and there will be incidents that require a lot of forgiveness and understanding from the other, and you both need to keep discussing it with each other to try to get through it all. And, even if you do all that, it still does take some amount of luck.

Keep in mind that you both have a lot of development ahead, and you each have your own talents to develop. If the paths of your growth line up, then you're in luck, and you two might end up growing together and being with each other forever. If they don't, then it's not either person's fault. Sometimes, growing up means growing apart, and you have to do what's best for you.

Best wishes and good luck to you two!

Yes it can last that long, but you left out some info for the readers. Like why are you waiting??? If its to get through college or something that is great . It can last if you really love each other. Marriage is only a piece of paper. If you are commited to each, and know you want to be together forever, that is all that matters for now.
